Feel better. Live better with Natural Theraflu

Feel better. Live better with Natural Theraflu

TIP TUESDAY // It’s that time of the year when you might start to feel a little icky and need some relief. Feel a sore throat coming on?  Are you sneezing like crazy?  My niece, being the tea fanatic she is, made me this tea when I was sick one time  and I now swear by it anytime I feel the onset of a cold.   We like to call it the natural, organic TheraFlu.  It’s so good, you’ll want to drink it everyday!  Here are the ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Water
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1 tsp of Fresh, grated Turmeric
  • 1 tsp of Fresh, grated Ginger
  • 1 tbsp of Organic Raw Honey (I have a sweet tooth)
  • 1 drop of Young Living Thieves Essential Oil

In a small saucepan, bring water to boil. Add fresh grated turmeric and ginger, reduce heat, and simmer for about 5 minutes with the lid covered. Then strain the tea, add the honey and squeeze some lemon to taste. After its cooled a bit, then add 1 drop of the Thieves EO.

The raw honey acts as a natural infection-fighter and rapid healer because of the antibacterial and antioxidant properties and because it hasn’t been heated, pasteurized or processed, it ensures that you receive all the nutrients at their most powerful state. The benefits of raw, organic honey are endless. The ginger and turmeric also act as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory and helps with headaches, bodyaches and a host of other conditions when feeling a little under the weather or even just as a daily wellness supplement. The Thieves essential oil supports our body’s natural defenses and helps maintain a healthy respiratory system. It must be a 100% pure, therapeutic-grade essential oil though in order to use internally.

Now, I am certainly not certified in any way, shape or form.  I’m just a mommie trying to live better so I’m only sharing this as a tip that I have learned on my journey to better health so please keep this in mind. Also, there are precautions you should consider if you are taking prescription drugs. If you take a regular medicine or have an ongoing health condition, check with your doctor, wellness practitioner or pharmacist before taking ginger turmeric tea. If you are taking blood thinners, have ulcers, gallstones or diabetes, you must avoid ginger and turmeric completely.  Cheers!

in love + light,

Angela René
